Jesus commended the Ephesian Believers for many things: they labored faithfully, they persevered through persecution, and they rejected heresy. But living in a culture that is hostile to your faith can make you cynical, callous and defensive. Jesus doesn't want to be just a cause we defend. He wants to be our closest friend.
From Series: "Love Letters from Jesus"
The entire storyline of Revelation is about Jesus Christ. It is a Christ-centered book. To be sure, all Scripture speaks of the Savior; but the Book of Revelation especially magnifies the greatness and glory of Jesus Christ. The book is, after all, the revelation of Jesus Christ; not just the revelation of future events. That’s why it opens with the words, “The revelation of Jesus Christ.” Chapters 2 and 3 contain messages that Jesus wanted delivered to His Bride. After more than 60 years of His physical absence, drift had occurred. Jesus was calling His Bride back to her first love, back to her first priority, back into faithful relationship.
